TO PARENTS / GUARDIANS:

Welcome to a new school year and a special welcome to all students and families that are new to the New Union School Community. We are looking forward to a good school year. You are encouraged to talk with us when a problem arises. This, we believe, will help us solve most of our problems. If you feel that there are ways that we can improve, please make a suggestion. New Union Elementary is your school and we want you to be proud of it. We believe we have a good school and that our teachers and teaching methods compare favorably with those of the surrounding schools and school systems. We can assure you that we will work continuously to bring improvements to our school.

STUDENT DROP-OFF/ PICK-UP:

MORNING CAR RIDERS - 

The building is unlocked at 7:00AM. If for some reason you arrive before 7:00AM, please wait with your child. We have no one to supervise your child before this time. 

All students are to be dropped off at the REAR of the building between 7:00AM and 7:55AM. If your child arrives after 7:55AM, then he/she must enter through the FRONT. The back door is locked between 7:55AM and 8:00AM. 

Any student being walked in by a parent must enter through the FRONT ENTRANCE ONLY. NO ADULT is to enter through the back door or side door at anytime. When you park in front of the school to walk your child in, do NOT park in the No Parking Zone beside the walk. You must pull forward past the drop-off zone or park on the other side. (This becomes a problem for parents that are driving up and letting their child out of their car). This is very important for continued safety and convenience. Do not park in this area until at least five minutes after 8:00AM. 

All parents must be out of the classrooms before the 8:00AM bell. Volunteers working at our school must sign in at the office and pick up a badge. 

AFTERNOON CAR RIDERS  -

If you have a child in the back wing, you will pick up your child at the back entrance off Brandon Road. If your child has older brothers/sisters, they will join him/her in the back. All vehicles must stay in line, do not stop and get out of your car. 

Kindergarten students will be picked up at the Kindergarten area in front of the building. If your child has older brothers/sisters, they will join him/her in the Kindergarten area. All parents must stay in their cars and pull up to the Kindergarten area and a teacher will escort your child to the car. All other students in the front wing will be picked up at the main entrance. All vehicles must say in line unless you park in the parking area and walk in. 

Pre-school students will follow the drop-off and pick-up plan as stated in the pre-school handbook. 

The building is locked at 3:30PM except for the Extended School Program pickup door which is locked at 6:00PM.
