Volunteer Information

New Union Elementary encourages parents, grandparents, and other adults in the local community to volunteer their time and skills to help better our school. If you would like to volunteer please contact the school at: (931) 723-5187 or speak with your child's classroom teacher. We look forward to working with you soon.

 

S.I.A. Program

The School Improvement Association, or SIA for short, is an association of educators, parents, students, and other citizens active in their schools and communities. Some of their goals include bringing  into closer relation the home and the school, joining parents and teachers together so that they may cooperate intelligently in the education of children, and developing between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, and social education.

Ongoing Projects

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION : Saving of these tops helps with obtaining items for our school. Parent volunteer, Emily Tidwell is heading up this project.

CAMPBELL SOUP LABEL COLLECTION : Saving of these labels helps with obtaining items for our school. Parent volunteer, Michele Howell is heading up this project.

SODA CAN TABS : Fourth Graders are collecting these tabs for the Ronald McDonald House; please help them by saving these tabs and contributing to their collection

EYEGLASSES : Third Graders are collecting eyeglasses for the Lions Club. You can donate old glasses at New Union School, the Board of Education Offices, or at Garner's Furniture Store on the square. 

CELL PHONES : Third Graders are also collecting cell phones for Haven of Hope. You can donate old cell phones at New Union School, the Board of Education Offices, or at Garner's Furniture Store on the square.
