MRS. SHORES
Our
classroom rules are:
1.
Show respect to others. Be kind with my
words and actions.
2. Show
respect for school and personal property.
3. Talk
at appropriate times and use appropriate voices.
4. Listen
while others are talking.
5. Keep
hands, feet, and objects to myself.
6. Follow
all school rules.
I believe in having high
expectations of the children to follow classroom and school rules and to help
them understand the reasons behind rules.
I want all of the children to have the opportunity to learn and for no
student to keep another student from being able to learn. I strive to provide a safe and comfortable
learning environment for the children in which we live and work as a team
family in our classroom.
Our classroom uses a
stop light system to help children visually stay on track in the
classroom. Each child has a bumblebee
clip and begins the day with his/her bee at the GREEN (GO) hive. If a child has difficulty following the rules
or directions the bee moves to YELLOW (WARNING) and I will conference with your
child about the behavior. After yellow,
bees will move to red (STOP – Recess, 5 minutes time-out) if behavior issues
continue. If a child continues to have
difficulty and is already on red there will be additional time-out added. If a
child is continuously having difficulty following classroom/school rules I will
send home a report to communicate areas that need improvement and the steps we
will take if poor behavior continues.
All bees return to the
green hive after lunch as we begin the second half of the day. Your child’s behavior color will be marked in
their School/Home Communication Folder, which will require a parent’s signature
each night. For keeping their bees at
green children will receive a sticker to put on their folder. On Fridays children with all greens will go
to the treasure chest. At the end of
each month children with all greens will receive a special treat.
Please sign and return the bottom portion only.
I have read the classroom behavior and discipline
plan and I have discussed it with my child.
