Network Programs Available
Open Book to Literacy: This program was designed for students of all age groups. The content is targeted toward specific age groups and teaches the student how to read, write, and speak English through interaction with the program. The programs uses 52 phonemes in words, stories and lessons, and encourages the student to use these sounds in the form of writing exercises.
A+dvanced Learning System: The program is divided into modules that provide for Pre-Assessment, Lesson Completion, and Post Assessment for each student on an individualized basis. The objectives obtained after pre-assessment show the student's mastery or non-mastery of that objective. The student's lessons are generated through the results of the assessments. Upon completion of the post assessment the students growth can be evaluated. The objectives are correlated with our state objectives. The academic program that we have available are Math, Science, and Social Studies.
STAR - Standardized Test for Assessment of Reading: Computerized adaptive testing assessment that can provide the instructional reading levels, grade equivalents, percentile ranks, and NCE scores. The test can be administrated multiple time throughout the year.
Star Early Literacy: A computer adaptive diagnostic assessment of reading for kindergarten through second grade. The areas tested are graphophonemic knowledge, general readiness, phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, structural analysis, and vocabulary.
Star Math: A computer adaptive, norm referenced mathematics test. Math levels of students in grades 1-12 can be assessed.
Math Facts in a Flash : Software for mastering computational fluency. It focuses on fluency in mental math operations. Students at all skill levels practice their addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other math skills at their own pace.
Wild West Math : The program is designed for grades 2 thru 6. It refines math skills from the memorization of basic math facts to the process of long division. The teacher can adjust the activities to accommodate the needs of the student.
Fractions with Professor Von Strudel : The fraction lessons are designed for grades 2 thru 6. It starts with the very basic introduction to fractions and builds on what the student learns. The student has the opportunity to complete a wide range of skills, from recognizing 1/4, to dividing with mixed numerals. Teacher options are available.
Mathosaurus I : The program is designed for grades Pre K thru 1st. It helps the student practice counting, learn number words, compare sets to see which is more or which is less, create matching sets, and sequence in steps by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. Teacher options are available.
Mathosaurus II : The program is designed for grades 1-2. It practices the skills of place value, less than and greater than, addition and subtraction with of without carrying and borrowing. Teacher options are available.
Picture Phonics : The program is intended for pre-readers and beginning readers. It helps the student master the association between a letter or cluster of letters and the sound it represents. Teacher options are available.
Chuck Wagon Bill's Language Skills : The program offers 16 language arts activities for students in grades 2-5. It is organized into three areas: Capitalization, Punctuation, and Grammar.
Web Based Programs Available
Study Island : The program is organized into topics covering all of the Tennessee Curriculum Standards that are tested on the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Achievement Tests (TCAP) in grades 3 through 8. We have access to Math and Reading/Language Arts. The students must take a pre-test, complete all content groups covering all the Curriculum Standards, and pass a post-test in order to complete the program. Teachers have access to a private page where they can view usage statistics and results for each student, a group of students, and the school as a whole. In addition, teachers can compare their students' performance against other students in Tennessee. The academic material is organized in topics which contain a lesson and assessment questions with explanations. Each student has their own individual username and password. BrainPop : The program provides curriculum-based content spanning seven main subjects including: Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Health, Art & Music, and Technology. The main focus grades are 3-12. It features multiple lessons in each of the subject areas. Each lesson has an animated movie supported by activities such as a quiz, comic strip, experiments and other printable worksheets. BrainPop Jr. : The program is the same as above with the exception its content is for grades K-3.
