Course
Description
In this class students
will review basic grammar skills, refine writing skills, and do a comprehensive
study of World Literature including short stories, poetry, novels, and current
events from print and non-print media.
Rules
All students will be expected to obey the following rules:
1.
Show
respect and courtesy to everyone in class.
2.
Be
prepared when bell rings. (Have pencil sharpened, books opened, homework ready,
etc.)
3.
Be
in your seat when the tardy bell rings or you will be counted tardy to class.
4.
Clean
up around your desk before leaving.
5.
Check
the assignment sheet or web page for make-up work.
6.
Late
assignments will receive a 20 point deduction if turned in immediately
following the class. (Otherwise, they will result in a zero.)
7.
It
is your responsibility to keep a grade sheet each grading period. This sheet
provides you with a progress report and may be checked for a quiz grade near
the end of the grading period.
8.
All
extra credit must be turned in by date specified.
9.
Obey
all school rules including dress code, profanity, etc.
10.
Do
not move the desks and do not place your feet on the desk in front of you.
11.
Leave
backpacks in lockers.
