Classroom
Expectations |
|
In order to maintain an atmosphere conducive to learning, certain rules must be followed. I expect to have a classroom where with your cooperation we can function in a safe and orderly manner. Therefore I expect you to follow all school rules as well as the rules and common courtesies listed below.
1. When the tardy bell rings, you must be in your seat ready to begin class. Tardy to class is considered a classroom disruption. Each nine-week period, a warning will be given the first time you are tardy. Five points will be deducted from your deportment the second and third times you are tardy. Your name will be turned in to the office on the fourth tardy.
2. Take your bathroom break before class. Do not ask to leave the classroom unless it is an emergency.
3. Raise your hand to ask a question or make a comment. Talking without being called upon, passing notes, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. A warning will be given for the first offense and deportment will be cut by 5, 10 and 15 points for following offenses.
4. All school-wide policies will be strictly enforced in my classroom . These include the dress code , no food or drink, defacing property, profanity, etc. Make sure that you have read your student handbook and are aware of these policies.
5. Students are expected to be respectful and courteous not only to me, but also to their classmates.
6. Any gum chewing must be inconspicuous. If you make any noise with your gum, you are chewing with your mouth open, or you have your gum visible; you will be asked to dispose of your gum properly (wrap it in paper and put it in the trash can). Repeated incidents with gum will result it deportment cuts (5, 10, then 15 points).
Know that I am here to help you learn. I expect for you to be here
wanting and willing to try your best to further develop your math skills.
We can only do this if we all respect each other’s differences,
tolerate each other’s inadequacies
and demonstrate an attitude of maturity.
